How do I create a person?

You can create a person within JForce by clicking on the People button on the top toolbar. Here you will see a list of people. If you have access to create people you can click the create new button to create a new person. Note that you will need to associate this person with a company and you can either create a Joomla! user for them at this time or link them to an existing Joomla! user.

How does JForce use Joomla! users?

JForce uses the standard Joomla! users table to store the email address, username, and password for each JForce user. This means that JForce works seamlessly with any other component that utilizes the Joomla! users table. JForce does NOT use Joomla! permissions (e.g. a Joomla! Super Administrator does not necessarily have admin privileges within JForce.) JForce allows you to assign users to specific JForce access roles that you can create and customize in the admin panel of JForce. We feel that this allows you to have the flexibility you require for your Joomla! users. You can create a Manager, or even Admin level access roles and assign a Joomla! Registered User that role without compromising the rest of your Joomla! site.

How do I setup access roles?

Access roles are setup and created on the admin panel. Then you can assign those access roles to your users on the front side of the website (or the back). Note: when assigning access roles from the admin panel you will initially see all Joomla! users in your list of people - the system will automatically create a JForce person for each user you select and assign them to the admin company; after this initial assignment you will only see JForce users in your list of users.

Can my clients upload a photo for their company or person?

Yes, your clients are able to upload their own photo for themselves and if you've given them the permission they can also edit and upload a company photo as well.

Can one person be a part of multiple companies?

Right now JForce only allows a person to be part of one company. Because JForce people are linked to Joomla! users and we require a unique email address for each user we only allow a one to one relationship between person and company. You can assign a person to be part of multiple projects and define unique roles for that person for each project so there should be no need to be a part of multiple companies.

What is an assignee?

An assignee is someone that you select to be "assigned" to an item. This means that they are responsible in some way for that item. When creating or editing an item you can select a assignees from a modal list of available JForce people (this list of people is based on the restrictions of the various access roles as you have defined them in the admin panel and applied them to your users). For example, some users are company only, or project only, this will affect whether or not that user is shown in your list of available people. Selecting assignees will notify those users (if you choose to do so) via an email of the item. If you assign an access role to a person that has "assignment-only" access than that user will only be able to view items that you have assigned to them.
